Press release
“"Can communication help us feel closer and be more united? We believe it can."
Today we are taking a very important step: we are renewing our visual identity. A new logo, a new website and a revamped magazine for more empathetic, feminine and transformative communication, without changing our mission or our essence.
A living network of Catholic women at the service of the Church and the world
After a participatory process lasting more than a year, the new visual identity of the World Union of Catholic Women's Organisations (WUCWO) is being launched: a historic organization, deeply rooted in the path of the Church, now presents itself with a more updated, clear, and meaningful graphic image.”
Here are all the latest developments:
Logo

With its minimalist and modern aesthetic, this logo is understandable, simple and versatile. It will withstand the test of time and represent us faithfully for many years to come.”
The open circle symbolises unity and represents a global community that is interconnected and open to others and to the world.
The integrated cross reinforces our Catholic identity.
Four female figures express diversity, solidarity and collective empowerment. Their movement conveys active participation, highlighting the leadership role of women in promoting dialogue, collaboration and meaningful change.
Motto
The motto approved by the WUCWO Council is:
Global Network of Catholic Women
United in mission, transforming lives
This motto expresses the identity and action of WUCWO: an international network of Catholic women committed to a common mission, capable of making a real impact on people's lives.
“Moreover, this motto is naturally connected to that of the WUCWO’s World Women’s Observatory (WWO), which can be summarized as: ‘Listening to transform lives.’ Both expressions reflect the synergy between the WUCWO’s global mission and its Observatory, the latter actively participating in its implementation.”
Magazine

“Women´s Voice”, WUCWO's quarterly magazine, is presented with a completely renewed layout in its graphics, colours, and content. Members request that it serves as a space for learning with a feminine gaze and as a tool to empower and share the work of the organisations.
Website
An easy-to-navigate and intuitive portal, whose main mission is to make the work of member organisations visible and to keep up to date with the organisation's activities, events and projects.
"I urge that the WUCWO website and newsletter become a platform where we can learn about our diverse communities of women, their work and their successful projects. I invite WUCWO women to a mutual exchange of experiences where we can share our best practices. Let us be proud of our achievements in our women's groups, let us not hide our successes, let us learn from each other!" Borbála Csehné Vadnai, WUMCOF Vice-President for Europe.
WUCWO recognises the important role that communication plays today within the Church and for its mission, to strengthen cooperation, communion and networking.
“We know that communication is not just about informing: it is about creating communion. Communication is what unites us, what allows us to walk together from diverse contexts and build bridges between generations, cultures and languages. With this graphic change, we want to strengthen those bonds.”, Mónica Santamarina
What is WUCWO?
The World Union of Catholic Women's Organisations (WUCWO) is a worldwide network of Catholic women's or mixed organisations, represented by women, whose mission is evangelisation and integral development, particularly of women. For more than 115 years, we have been working to promote the active and co-responsible participation of Catholic women in the Church and in society, so that they can fulfil their evangelising mission and contribute to human development.
Since its creation, WUCWO has been committed to respect for the dignity and fundamental rights of the person, especially women, to the promotion and defence of life and the family, to ecumenical and interreligious dialogue, and to respect for cultural diversity.
In 2007, WUCWO was recognised by the Holy See as a Public International Association of the Faithful, making it the official voice of Catholic women in the Church.
With consultative status before organisations such as the UN and FAO, participatory status in the Council of Europe, and membership in UNESCO, it represents and advocates internationally for its presence, contributions, and the values it promotes.”
In 2021, it created the World Women's Observatory (WWO) to give visibility to the most vulnerable and promote their integral development.
Our Mission
To promote the integral development of women and their participation in all areas of ecclesial and social life, encouraging them to live their Christian vocation and commitment towards the world to the fullest.
Our Vision
We aspire for Catholic women to be active protagonists in the Church and in society, collaborating in the construction of a more just and humane world, through the witness of their faith and their concrete commitment.
