Networking after the workshop in Mexico

ree

Following the workshop “Experiences and Proposals in Networking on Access to Justice for Migrant Women in Mexico”, held last March in Mexico City,A summary of the proposals put forward by participating organisations has been compiled to support continued collaboration through networking.

The proposals are:

● Improve knowledge of statistics and update information

● Train volunteers in listening and psychosocial care

● Share protocols and good practices among NGOs

● Launch an awareness campaign for the whole of society

● Have a common agenda to position issues online

● Promote more spaces to listen to immigrants

As part of the networking and follow-up work that the World Women's Observatory (WWO) of the World Union of Women's Catholic Organisations (WUCWO) can contribute to the valuable work carried out by organisations in their respective areas, sessions have been scheduled to strengthen the WWO Mexico network. These sessions aim to share protocols and best practices among NGOs belonging to the network, a topic identified as a need by the organisations themselves.

These sessions are implemented through a digital platform and last one hour. Four sessions have been scheduled for May, July, September and November. An invitation has also been extended to organisations within the network to participate as speakers, to share their good practices and thereby enrich other organisations.

The first session was given by the organisation Sin Fronteras IAP, who presented their comprehensive assistance manual and shared specific cases to illustrate how it is applied.

We applaud the participation of organisations and their interest in continuing ongoing learning processes around good practices. Networking becomes an essential strategy for this.
