Sister Maureen giving a hug to a woman of CWA (Kenya)
By Sr. Maureen Ogundeph - Kenya
Community Manager and Ambassador of WWO
As a member of the Sacramentine Sisters of Bergamo and a Community Manager at the World Women’s Observatory (WWO) which is a project of the World Union of Catholic Women Organisations (WUCWO), my mission is deeply rooted in the transformative power of listening. By being a voice for the voiceless, I strive to foster an environment where women from diverse backgrounds can network, share, and learn from one another. Our collective journey is about discovering and adopting best practices, with a commitment to education and empowerment that drives meaningful change.
Through intentional listening, we uncover the unique challenges and triumphs of women globally, and turn these insights into actionable strategies. Our network becomes a beacon of support, illuminating paths to progress and resilience. We champion initiatives that elevate the voices and experiences of women, ensuring they are heard, respected, and celebrated.
The essence of our work lies in collaboration. By creating spaces where women can connect, we build a reservoir of shared wisdom and strength. Educational programs and empowerment workshops are at the heart of our efforts, providing the tools and knowledge needed to navigate and overcome barriers.
Seeing the tangible impact of our efforts brings immense fulfillment. Each transformed life is a testament to the power of community and solidarity. The joy I derive from witnessing women’s lives being uplifted and transformed is unparalleled. It is this joy that fuels my dedication and passion for the role.
The World Women Observatory is a project of the World Union of Catholic Women’s Organizations. We strive to come together as Religious Sisters and Catholic Women, uniting our efforts for a common cause.
In essence, my role as a community manager is to be an unwavering advocate for women’s voices, fostering a network that educates, empowers, and transforms. By listening intently and acting decisively, we pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future for women everywhere.
